You need someone with you

Home visit – Alcohol Home Detox
Thirdly, if the assessment has gone well and they can offer you an alcohol home detox. Then the next stage will be a home visit or a Zoom meeting (if there is a pandemic, ie COVID 19 etc). Their nurse will also bring your medication with them. On the other hand they can transfer your prescription to your local chemist, if you prefer. They can start your you alcohol home detox the same day, so don’t panic. Alternatively if you prefer, they can start it when you are ready.
The Supervisor – Alcohol Home Detox
Fourthly the person you are staying with, maybe your wife, husband, friend etc, will be come what is know as your “supervisor”. They will be issuing your medication on the advice of their nurses. You and your supervisor will be able to contact your nurse at anytime. The nurse doing your detox, will be the nurse you have throughout the full duration of your detox. So there will never be a situation where you are pushed from pillar to post. You will always get straight through to your nurse.
4x phone calls a day
Once you have your medication and you are ready to start. Their nurses will call you on the phone a minimum of 4 times a day, to check your blood pressure etc, and see how you are feeling. Plus they will tell your supervisor how much medication to give you. This goes on throughout the full length of your detox. You are never alone.

Lastly once you are clean from alcohol, you have your freedom back. I can only say through my own experience, “it is like coming our of a cloud of chaos’. Furthermore look back, what I really remember is, it was “such hard work” making sure you had alcohol around.
