Is Location important – Rehab Centres
Is location important – rehab centres. In most cases, no. The most important part of going to a rehabilitation centre is to get well. Some centres cope better with certain addictions them others. If you have an alcohol addiction, and you are 56yrs old. The last thing you want is to be in a rehab centre with a load of 21yrs crack addicts! In a funny sort of way, it is like if you had a back injury. You would be moved to a hospital who is better suited for your injury.
But I want to visit my loved one
In most cases your loved one is only in rehab for a short length of time. Most clients stay for 4 weeks, and some stay up to 12 weeks depending on the severity of their addiction. Furthermore visiting is allowed, but most centres feel it is not necessary. This is because:
- The client gets home sick, and wants to come home.
- They are settled in the rehab centre
- The client could be going through their detox period.
Time goes really quickly when you are in rehab centre. Almost as quickly as when you are on holiday. You have just got to let the rehab centre get on with their job. They know what they are doing. There is nothing you can do to make anything any better. Plus your loved one will be home before you know it. So relax and wait for your loved one to come home.
